Rules
|
Students may enter papers in any of the award divisions, but students may enter each division only once. Any topic relevant to the field of history, as specified by division, is appropriate. All entries will become the property of Phi Alpha Theta. Complete papers may not exceed a maximum of 35 pages. Papers should be typed, double-spaced, with end notes and a bibliography. The student's name, school, and division must appear only on the title page. A one page summary, with the division and title of the paper but not the student's name, must also be submitted. Winners will be asked to submit a version of their paper on disk in either Word Perfect or Microsoft Word. The deadline for entering this year's competition is March 3, 2008. Papers should be mailed or submitted in person to the Omicron Kappa Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. Faxes and emails will not be accepted. | Prizes | In addition to monetary prizes, the winning essays will be published in the E.C. Barksdale Essays in History Online Journal. Winners must submit their winning essays in the proper format before prizes are awarded. |
